What is iText?
iText is a mobile messaging service that allows subscribers to grant 20 complimentary text messages to a buddy in the Philippines and receive 20 text messages from the same buddy for only $1.99. In effect, the subscriber pays less than 10 US cents per message received from his buddy in the Philippines.

iText is available for texting between subscribers of AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, Nextel, Boost, Dobson, and Virgin Mobile subscribers in the US and SMART Buddy, Talk N’ Text, AMP, SMART Kid, Globe Handyphone Prepaid and Touch Mobile Prepaid subscribers in the Philippines. What is an alias?
An alias is the name you can assign your buddy when using the iText service.

Why should I create an alias?
Creating an alias for your buddy makes it easy to identify which iText buddy you want to send your message to. Normally, when you send a message to 44555, the service will ask you who you want to send the message to by sending you back an SMS. When you create an alias, you skip this step and your message gets delivered to your buddy right away.

Can I register more than one iText buddy?
Yes. You can register as many iText buddies as you want, as long as they are mobile subscribers of our partner carriers in the Philippines and the US.
Please note that you will be charged $1.99 for every buddy you register in iText. So if you have 3 buddies, you will be charged 3 iText subscriptions of $1.99 each, granting each of your buddy 20 complimentary texts to you.

How much will I be charged for the iText messages that I receive?
For only $1.99, the service grants 20 complimentary text messages to your buddy in the Philippines and lets you receive 20 text messages from the same buddy. In effect, your $1.99 pays for 40 SMS transactions: 20 that you receive in the US, and 20 that your buddy from the Philippines sends you. Your Philippine buddy will not be charged for sending text messages to your mobile, and you will not be charged for receiving the rest of the 20 messages in the US.
Please note that standard carrier rates apply when a US mobile subscriber replies to an iText buddy. Rates may vary depending on the subscriber’s SMS plan and US mobile carrier.

What if I registered the wrong number for my iText buddy, will I still be charged for that subscription?
Yes. If you registered a mobile number by mistake, you will be charged if the mobile phone is active and is subscribed to any of our partner carriers in the Philippines. Please make sure that you enter the right mobile number when subscribing to iText.
If the mobile number is invalid, inactive and⁄or from mobile carriers other than our partners, you will not be charged. You will receive a text message informing you that you have sent an invalid command. You will be charged the applicable mobile carrier rates for every message you send, but not for an invalid attempt to subscribe to iText.

When does my iText subscription expire?
Your iText subscription expires when you have received all the 20 text messages from your buddy.

How do I renew my subscription?
After receiving the 20th text message from your buddy in the Philippines, you will be notified via text that you can renew your iText subscription. Simply reply with Y to renew your subscription.

What If I don’t want to receive messages from my iText buddy anymore?
You can terminate your iText subscription at any point before your buddy consumes the allotted credits. On your mobile, send STOP to 44555. However, you will still be charged the full amount of $1.99.
